Spanish Tapas | Authentic Spanish restaurants in London - Camino
CAMINO IS A SPANISH TAPAS RESTAURANT & BAR INSPIRED BY A LIFE-CHANGING ROAD TRIP IN THE SUMMER OF 1984, DRIVING ACROSS SPAIN FROM NORTH TO SOUTH AND BACK IN BLAZING HEAT IN A TINY OLD BLACK MINI.
THE LANDSCAPE, THE PEOPLE AND THE LIFESTYLE MADE A DEEP AND EVERLASTING IMPRESSION, AND LEFT A BURNING NEED TO RECREATE A PIECE OF SPAIN BACK HOME IN LONDON.

Camino Bankside is located just behind the Tate Modern on London’s Bankside.
Opening onto a large outdoor terrace it’s also perfect for a drink or two on long summer evenings, nestled in between the olive trees and floor standing lanterns.
Camino Bankside has a private dining room located on a separate mezzanine, which also has it’s own private bar.
It’s perfect for a birthday knees up, office party, or just to watch the match with your friends.

food
Camino’s authentic take on tapas gets a slick new venue near some great art.
Pan-roasted whole octopus tentacle, purple potatoes, paprika and olive oil; morcilla de Burgos – pan-fried black pudding and spicy alegría peppers; charcuterie and artisan cheeses, and a whole Segovian-style suckling pig, slow-roasted with white wine, onions, garlic and herbs.
Hamburguesa Iberica, £5.75, a mini Ibérico pork burger, idiazábal cheese, roast onions, watercress and patatas bravas; Arroz Negro £5, black rice made with cuttlefish and squid ink, served with alioli.
There’s an upstairs balcony space overlooking the bar below, from which you can see the outdoor seating on the terrace outside through the immense feature window that forms the front wall.
need to know The cocktail bar that’s a feature of this place makes it very much a party kind of space.
REVIEW: Camino, Blue Fin Building, Canvey Street, Bankside - The ...
food
It’s been a good while since I had a glass and even longer since I visited a Spanish restaurant in London.
My recent Spanish experience led me to the newest branch of Camino Bankside – the groups sixth addition to its portfolio.
Inside Camino Bankside the decor is sterile, cold and with tiny seats at one end of the restaurant, along with tall breakfast bar seating.
So with a few dry glasses, we topped them up with a half bottle of fino sherry from Bodegas Lustau – arguably they make some of the best sherry in the world (they’ve even trademarked the accolade!)
A full plate of Jamon Teruel and Jamon Iberico turned out to be a nice enough dish, although I’d have liked the meat to have been a little more of the melt-in-the-mouth kind.
